The 11th Biennial Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Conference (ANZFP) will be held in Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel Sydney, Australia. Sydney is one of the world’s most loved cities and it has a lively and vibrant buzz that makes it the ultimate destination throughout the year.
The Conference
The 11th Biennial Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Conference will be held at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel in Sydney. This is the third time the conference has returned to Sydney since 2004, when the Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Society hosted it for the first time.
The conference, themed “Bridging the Gap: Research to Implementation”, will showcase the latest research, program implementation, training, and policy and planning innovations in falls prevention in Australia, New Zealand and internationally. The conference will be complemented with practical pre-conference workshops to support skill development and implementation of key aspects of falls prevention. The exciting program will feature new items including a lived experience presentation, a three-minute thesis competition for PhD students and a session for prize finalists.
The 11th Biennial Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Conference will be held face-to-face, however if there are sufficient virtual registrations, sessions will be recorded and available for viewing after the event.

The Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Society invites you to participate in this exciting conference, as a delegate or presenter.
The ANZFPS was formed in 2006 to promote the multidisciplinary study and implementation of falls prevention in older people.
The society’s major activities include
- Holding regular meetings to present and discuss the latest research and clinical findings, policy, practice and education innovations relating to the falls risk factors and falls prevention strategies;
- Facilitating student participation at ANZFPS meetings through travel grants, low registration fees and presentation awards and;
- Providing members with email notification about upcoming ANZFPS meetings and other occasional electronic updates
